Default Arizona Commercial Drivers License

Does anybody have experience with getting a CDL in Arizona? I used to drive some heavy equipment on golf courses and I'm interested in maybe finding work with a landscaping company hauling materials.
Is it a good idea to look into a school for truck driving? What's the potential for a career driving trucks here in Arizona?

Thanks!
Bill

Thanks for that web site. I checked out their forum and I got some information about schools. One possibility I hadn't thought of was taking classes at Pima Community College. I've seen some ads for a few jobs I would like, but I need a CDL. I'm clueless about CDL's and appreciate any information I can get.

I like going through their 'search trucking jobs' section, they give you several options on what you want to haul and which companies offer how much, etc. Keep in mind though, that ever since the 9-11 thing, they started making you pay an extra 95.00 if you want hazmat on your license, so they can do a background check. Then you have to pay that every 5 years that you have to renew your license now, plus re-take the hazmat written test. But its worth it, in the long run!
