Bull crap. 115 degrees is 115 degrees. Sure there is no heat index in PHX because of no humidity, but 115 degrees is still hotter than 95 degrees (with humidity factored in). And besides, 95 "back east" is a rare occasion.

I fully believe that Texas with its cheaper housing and higher paying jobs in a diverse sector was a more realistic choice. A diversifed economic outlook for Dallas/Houston/Austin makes the risk of uprooting a family less riskier.
just why I said TX - if you decide it's not for you, you can get rid of your house easier
And as far as the EAST HEAT, it was SO hot last night, I actually had to put the window fan in my bedroom on MEDIUM - oh, the horror!

I appreciate the input.

Right now, it's 90-95 with 90% humidity here in Des Moines. We call it "Iowa State Fair Weather" - it's oppressive. It's hard to breath. It doesn't cool down here at night either. Texas is worse for longer periods of time.

I do understand that when it's 115 degrees it's still 115 DEGREES. Someone said that it doesn't cool down at night. Is that true? I was thinking that it cooled down in the evenings quite a bit?

What does anyone think about the areas around Payson, Camp Creek, Globe? I know those are a little cooler and a little less expensive.

(Sorry to kick a dead horse - but, I LOVE the desert!)
