How about Bostonian? lots of jobs, good paying ones - but after 10 years the heat in the summer gets old because you are "landlocked" - we drive (5 hours ) to SAn Diego when we need water..
Can't beat the fall and spring though - but sure do miss the scenery of New England -
traveled to the NW this summer and saw alot of NE in the NW

I loved living in Maine - it's beautiful and living by the ocean was incredible. But you couldn't pay me enough to live through those winters again. For me, Maine is a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there again

Default Mainers in AZ

We moved here to Sierra Vista as snowbirds (6 here, 6 in Maine) 2001. Now permanent residents and love it. BUT we live at 4650 ft. elevation and travel back to get a Maine fix every summer. We find we spend less and less time there, hate the humidity and can't wait to get back to SV. Summer temps rarely reach 100 here. People from Chandler (near Phoenix) rented our house July and August to escape from the heat and loved it. So when you talk about AZ be aware of altitude.

I moved here from Maine. I go back to visit in the summer, but never again will spend three weeks without electricity because of an ice storm. I like being warm. No place is perfect, and if you want to hear complaints about Arizona, I'll go on for an hour. But then I'll spend the rest of the day telling you what I like about the Sonoran Desert.

We are going for Maine....time to get out of AZ while we still can-
It will be nice to visit Az when it's cold in Maine. But Az has just grown to much, you can't go anywhere without crowds of people or cars it's just not at all like it use to be. It has it's good qualities like amazing sunsets and beautiful mountains but I am sure to the people that moved here from somewhere else it's great but for us that grew up here it has lost alot of charm and what it use to be.

I agree....I have friends that live there and that hasn't happened to them! Plus it's not as cold as it use to be...could be Global Warming
