Default Fort Mohave? What it is like?Weather?Crime?

I was wondering if anyone has any info on Fort Mohave. I am thinking it is hot there but what is the crime like? What about development? What shopping?

Thanks!

By and large; Ft Mohave is nicer than Bullhead City proper; farther from Laughlin and the casinos.

Shopping, what shopping? Actually a Target is being built. There is a small mall with a JC Penney. Super Wal-mart. K Mart. Laughlin has a fashion outlet mall. Great weather in winter. Fort Mohave is not afraid of development. Many new subdivisions. It's a buyers market, lots of homes for sale.

All of the stores listed are actually in Bullhead City, the next town N of Ft Mohave.

And; it seems about 5 degrees cooler in the summer in Ft Mohave as well......maybe due to the flatter terrain along the River as well as the crop irrigation on the Ft Mohave Indian rez.

Ft Mohave is hot as explained, there is green fields and don't forget the indian reservation in the area as well. There police are on the prowl quite a bit on the hwy.
Needles calif is easier to get to than Bullhead city though prices tend to be a bit higher. There is a safeway grocery store, mcdonalds and such out that way the hospital is pretty darn close by as well.
The new bypass is in the planing stages and it will make life easier getting around, will connect from the parkway over to the current interchange @ I-40 to Lake Havasu.
Because the south end of Ft Mohave is close to the river, the bogs and such there is potential for Mosquitos and bugs. The section over to Golden shores is twisty and 2 lane rd and then over to I-40. It floods at times and the road closes.
If I am in a hurry I go through Needles and catch I-40 and on into town. The stay on Az side is more scenic though.
You can access Oatman and the Burros through Golden Shores or up the other way.
I have not heard of crime being a problem there much at all.

So is there flash flooding there? When are they expecting the new road to be completed or are you talking about that Hoover Dam bridge?

Thanks!

Well some flash flooding in some of the lower sections, you have to understand water flows down hill, ft mohave sits between the river and the hills, water needs to get to the river somehow.

No the realignment I am refering to his: go to this link for some info: Mohave Daily News: Top Story

Another item I did not mention is you have access to the lower bridge and can cross over into Calif (past the casino) and North up into Laughlin/Henderson without going into the traffic of Bullhead

Ft mohave has a pretty good fire service so that should not be a concern.

I almost forgot about the smoke at times. Across the river they typicaly burn off there fields after the harvest, this results in smoke inversions at times. usually not so bad but something to be aware of.

Thanks you! I am going to print this thread so I have all the info. If I don't have it then I will forget it and won't know where to find it.

So crime in Fort Mohave is OK? Kingman OK? How about Bullhead city?

Thanks
