Survival of the fittest? That is NOT what a responsible and caring pet owner ever thinks. You are moving to the desert. With that, comes responsibilities and precautions that you probably never thought about in Seattle.

If you are bringing your cats, they should absolutely be kept indoors at all times, day or night, unless you want to get a secure cat harness and take them out supervised on the leash.

There are coyotes, rattle snakes, scorpions, owls and any number of other critters in the desert.

There is also the heat, of which your cats are not at all used to. It isn't like a cat used to cold and rain ill all of the sudden acclimate to 110 degrees. Their pads will burn off!

Not to sound harsh, but if you are not ready to be responsible, and look out for the best interests of all the pets in your home, then you shouldn't have them.

(Harrier has lost two cats to drivers of cars(note that Harrier didn't say "cars", because the car didn't kill the cats by themselves, just as guns don't fire themselves, as some liberals believe), and he allows his current cats to go outside).

Would you be happy if you woke up one day & I was just chilling on your lawn? Probably not! In the same way I do not want to get up to your cat on my lawn. It''s YOUR pet & I want none of it

Keep your cats in doors or else ....

Has it ever occured to you that your cat might be a burden to other people or do you not care?
A burden- how?

The selfish one seems to be yourself.

FYI to "victims" of unwanted cats . . . CATS HATE FABREZE.

A quick spray of Fabreze in and around areas frequented by stray cats works wonders.

Do you have to use a special product to remove the cat urine from your doors, walls and wheels of your car before using the Fabreeze? I use Pine-sol from the dollar store. The kitties just love the 18 inch chrome wheels on my new Ford Edge. How do you get the scratches from the kitty toenails out of the paint on your car? Harbor Freight is a good source for cat traps. I do love kitties and wish you would keep them inside your house. Get them fixed.
