Default Interested in checking out Bisbee.

I have heard a lot of cool things about Bisbee and am thinking about taking a trip to visit the place. Can anyone tell me what it's like?

I like it. Def MUCH cooler in the summer than Phoenix or TUcson but the winter aint that cold. Neat old houses, the people seem to be cool, etc.

East San Francisco, a haven for Hippies. If I didn't need to be on FT Huachuca daily I would move there. It was, and is a mining town with a large active Copper Mine. Most of the housing was originally miners cabins. There are great resturants and as much entertainment as a town that size can boast. I try to get over there once an week and stop in for a Chicago Style Hot Dog

I've been in Arizona for just over a year. Bisbee is on my list of places to visit. When the weather gets cooler I plan on making a few day/weekend trips to see more of my new state.

Bisbee has a solid reputation as far as I can tell. It's an old mining town so there's lots of historical value. There's an old hotel, I think, down there that is big with tourists.

My uncle is a rock and mineral hound so Bisbee is one of his favorite places in Arizona. If you're into geology it should be right up your alley.

Plus Doug Stanhope lives there as stated above.

Quite a bit of history in the old mining town. My Father-In-Law and his brother worked and lived there as muckers I think they called them before WWII.
My wife was born in Tombstone and we have lived in Cochise County a few times.
You can visit the towns of Tombstone and Bisbee in a day or two depending on how much you want to see and do.
Many also like to visit Kartchner Caverns http://azstateparks.com/Parks/KACA/tour_info.html which is located just off HWY 10 at the Fort Huachuca and Sierra Vista exit. Much better than Carlsbad in my opinion by the way.

After decades of bypassing the Bisbee cutoff on I-10, we finally visited there about 5 years ago and we have returned for another viist. It is really a neat place. We have stayed in Bed and Breakfast places there and enjoy the atmosphere. I imagine that houses are expensive, more so than surrounding areas. True, there are a lot of "free spirits" and all that entails; however, it is a unique and beautiful place.

It is definitely different than any towns in Southern AZ. Different architecture, winding narrow roads with lots elevation changes, etc.

That mine they have with the tour where you go in the cars in pretty fun and informative.
