Talking Visiting the Sedona Area

Hi all
I have been reading the post about the rainstorms, are they exspected to last all week? We are flying in Saturday morning and driving up to Sedona, to scope out the area. My home still has not sold in SE MI, at my son-in-laws suggestion my oldest daughter and I are coming in so I can check out the weather in the summer to make sure it's what I'm hoping it is. Thanks for all the help in the past with what to bring I have my cloths ready to be packed. Still wishing that I could turn this into a house and job hunt, hoping not to have to spend another winter here....
So if you see two ladies driving up 17 on sat morning in a Enterprise rental car it may just be me, I'll be the one driving with a big grin.
see ya
Debbie SE MI

This is monsoons season so there is some humidity in the air and it's hot! Usually it's a lot drier out. Thunderstorms are great to watch. Enjoy!

What jenkaye said.

Sedona is beautiful, the best spot in the state. The big problem is the ludicrous housing costs, hippies, etc. Its a strange town indeed, but absolutely beautiful.

Sadly, Debbie . . . The Weather in Arizona is usually a "wait and see" type of thing. Just yesterday, the local "Weather Clown" on the evening news stated emphatically "no chance of rain" and about Midnight it poured for about 30 minutes . . . GO FIGURE!

Probably too late now but I usually alert people to schedule visits AFTER Labor Day due to the storms.

If this helps, no matter how bad they are they aren't nearly as bad as the storms in Michigan. ! ! ! !

On the positive side, knowing the "worst weather" will definitely help you make your final decision to relocate.

Enjoy your visit, I have a feeling . . . YOU WON'T MELT!

Theyre not bad folks, I just dont like seeing all the palm-reading/psychic/psychadelic stores all over that lovely town. What was truly sad was seeing Navajo indians selling jewelry right next to stores selling bongs and tye-died t-shirts. Truly sad.

Sedona is my favorite spot...ever! It is very artsy though.....very "light up a joint" and paint something. There's a lot more to it though......lots of cool off roading trails "smedley hill rd" being my favorite....lots of sight seeing drives (if you don't have the off road vehicle) lots of cool shops and restaraunts........but yes....with that comes lots of OUTRAGEOUSE home prices.......beautiful to visit but i couldn't live there.......not at 26 anyhow...maybe when i retire There's not much to do up there for the younger generation.....as far as living goes.

Thank you all for the as always wonderful information, I emailed the the site for Coconino National Forest - Palatki Ruins to my daughter I really hope we can go. I know 3 days is not enough to see and do all that I would like to do, but seeing northern az this time of year was very important in my relocating plans. We will be going to Jerome since I want to drive thru Clarkdale which is one of the places I have been looking at for my move.
I will post after I get home to let you all know how it went....
thanks again

Be sure to have lunch on the terrace at the Oaxaca restaurant, take the drive up Oak Creek Canyon, walk around Cathedral rock, etc. Sedona is a special place I hope you enjoy.
