Too bad. It was a brand new place when we built our house. It is 20 years old but you think they will do something about that smell?

Yeah Dobson Ranch used to be really nice back in the day. I heard on the news last year they were suppose to be taking care of the smell but it's still there. Their is hardly any pride of ownership there anymore. I think they have lots of Renters in that area now. It's not aging gracefully.

My friend lives on Southern by Alma School and seems to be doing ok. Then again he's a big Indian (overseas. Not native) I spent some time out there with him and it does'nt seem that bad. There's a bar down the rd called Septembers which is a fun place. Other areas are indeed sketchy. I will probably be visiting in December and will provide more perspective at that time. Until then I'll be sulking away in PA.

Default Mesa

I live in Mesa. The area of Lindsay and Mckellips. We feel very safe here. Mesa is spotty though. One block will have homes that are the size of mansions and then the next block over will be a trailer park. We didn't like this when we moved here but have found the commute to North Scottsdale via the Beeline Highway to be wonderful. Very little traffic and Red Mountain is beautiful!

I've lived in Phoenix, Glendale and Tempe and I would have to say Mesa is great for families.

Santee

I've lived in Phoenix, Tempe, Glendale, Chandler, Mesa and Gilbert.

I like Gilbert and Glendale the best. We live in Gilbert now but we have great memories of the kids when they were small growing up in Glendale. It was a nice solid community at that time. We really met the best of the best families, they were very community oriented and down to earth. I like Gilbert but a lot of people here are plastic it always feels like you have to keep up with the Jone's. I do feel safer here than I did in Glendale though.

Our house was in Mesa but I don't think it was in Dobson Ranch. I don't remember it called anything because all of the houses were just being built around there. We built the house on 1140 W. Meseto Drive. I don't remember how to spell the street name but it is something like that.

My sentiments EXACTLY when I think of Mesa!
And as of late, the trailer parks were winning the battle!

The streets seem to be wider in Mesa, and gives it a more open feeling, and the south part is newer and better. But Santee20 hit the nail on the head with his assessment!

Default west mesa

Kali ...meseto? It runs through different neighborhoods and mine is one of them...small world. I am in alma/guadalupe area and love my kids schools it is called dobson woods although I don't see any signs posting it! I feel pretty safe here...close to gilbert/tempe....quick to airport/scottsdale/phoenix...that and the schools is why we are here. a zillion kids walking to neighborhood school etc. I am trying to sell though...no family here and I am tired of the heat. About Mesa being spotty though...true...just like Chandler and Mesa is huge so that is a part of that reason I think. Have a great day!

Cin-Wow, that is neat. That is how our neighborhood was too. We did live kind of close to Tempe. At that time, we were the only Meseto Drive in that area. Is 1140 West Meseto Drive down the street from you? When we put our house up for sale, it sold in one day. Our house in Texas was not even built yet. My dad (at that time) was afraid it was going to take 2 1/2 years to sell it, because before we moved in Arizona, we lived in El Paso. It took 2 1/2 years to sell it in El Paso. Then we rented a house in Tempe. Renting a house back then was impossible. Every rent house was taken so we took the first one we saw. It was a nice house, but it was in a kind of bad neighborhood. I did not feel as safe as I did when we lived in Mesa.

I was looking at a house years ago on Pecos and Alma School, really nice block home, loved the floor plans there. Marlborough Mesa it's called. It's in Chandler though. That's by you.
