I don't think you want to live in El Mirage. It's pretty dumpy with a lot of crime. Yes, there are some decent looking new home developments but that doesn't mean much in Phoenix. People that aren't from the southwest see these pretty uniform houses all in a row with neat lawns or desert landscaping and think that are in utopia. The problem is that they can be built around areas that have a lot of poverty which often times equates to crime.

Do more research on El Mirage especially if you have kids.

I wouldn't move there for ANYTHING!! Look into the schools. We did and were glad that we had done the research.

There is a lot of hispanics in El Mirage. I would look into the middle, northern, and even the western part of Surprise,AZ. That area will have a lot of white people living. Here is a website to go to removed. And look for population finder and type in both El Mirage and Surprise. I think it would be the best resource.
