Need info on Mountain Gate community in Clarkdale, AZ (Prescott: relocation, real estate)

My dad is considering building a home in the Mountain Gate sub-division in Clarkdale. It is located (I think) near Sedona and Jerome. Any comments on the area, resale or the builder (Empire) would be greatly appreciated! I live in North Carolina and would just like to make sure he is making a good decision.

I would like to know about mtn.gate as well.
Hope someone replies. Saw it advertised in a Sedona relocation book got from a realtor in Sedona. I looked at their website you might check that out, but would like local's opinion on it. Anyone out there?

I think that there are issues with Empire and that they may have pulled out. Check out this link: Denied:1up! Software

From what I hear, Poolgirl is correct that Empire has shut down all their projects in Northern AZ. We have friends who live in the Empire community of Quailwood in Prescott Valley. Empire was building a home directly across the street from them and had it about 1/2 finished (framed and wrapped but no windows or siding). One day in March they just walked away and there sits this 1/2-finished house. I feel so sorry for my friends!

Since I'm in real estate I've heard rumors, but I'm not comfortable posting them on a public forum as I have not seen anything "official", so I'll just stick to relating the experience of my friends.

If this is a Clarkdale forum, why is it the wrong one. I clicked on Clarkdale and these are the threads that come up. Mountain Gate says it's in Clarkdale. Or maybe I don't know exactly how these work. Thanks for info on Mtn.Gate bytheway. Good to know that caution might be wise.
