Anxiously true. But AZ was especially hard hit because our economy is so heavily based on two industries that have been decimated: real estate (including construction) and hospitality (restaurants, hotels, etc.)

Las Vegas - same thing.

I wish they had more of a "southern hospitality" here.
Not that I entirely agree with the OP - but jimj's suggestions are only available if you are very low income and have very limited assets.

The only part of them that requires low income is the extra help. Without that copay's are around $10 for doc visit, $5-$10 for prescription and $0 for the plan other than what you're charged for plain medicare A/B.

I don't know, where I live seems pretty diverse to me (west phoenix area), although I grew up in a place in northern Arizona that was almost 95% white....

Anyway, if I had to wish for something in Arizona it'd be more water/trees. The family and I go up north to camp several times a year, but we miss the green down here in the Valley!

Hmm...one more thing....I wish the state wasn't so conservative. Spice it up a little people! Hehe...

I would have to agree ... one thing I can't stand is rock/desert yards. All they do is contribute even further to the heat island effect and provide no relief from the never ending sun! I will say, however, that there are quite a few green areas in & around Phoenix, especially the older, established neighborhoods & historic districts. Where I live in east central Phoenix is pretty shady and green, and we also irrigate our lawns.

Conservative on a fiscal level is actually better than liberal/socialist in my opinion. Even so, Arizona really isn't as conservative as some states. The one to the north of us (Utah) is one of the most solid red states of all. Even worse are the Bible thumping southern states like Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, etc.

You don't have to go far in AZ in the valley to get into some really serious desert.

And you want rain? Try the NW, they have lots of it.
But the mountain of AZ do well too.
If you live in the valley don't ask for rain.
Hey, no fair, this is a WISH list. lol I was only wishing for average rainfall, nothing too fancy. We are in a drought, getting a little sick of daily dust. Just a few extra drops would do. You raining on my parade doesn't count Keninaz, I'm already jealous of you living in Prescott. One day my friend, I'll be in your beautiful town. Hey, maybe I should have wished for more jobs in Prescott. lol
Love your post by the way, I'm always lurking around the Prescott thread.

I love the desert, rock cactus yard look! I think it looks really nice and different and exotic but that's because I grew up around borning green grass yards that all look the same, so plain and boring looking to me. I love the yards that are decorated with rocks & cactus with the whole desert look. It's much more decorative and interesting to me.

Default My wish(es)....

First off, as a gear-head stock car racer, I'd like to see more paved stock car tracks. Second, as an electronic music composer, I'd like to see a few festivals. Wonder if any of that will be there by the time we move this spring........

Arizona is pretty diverse as is, and is just fine.

What seriously is needed in Arizona is an even more conservative mindset than ever before. Too much liberal thinking strips away the fundamentals which America was originally built on.

Close your eyes, blow out the candles--you've got your wish! It is getting more conservative.
