Anybody care to share their knowledge of Bullhead City? It is on my list of places to consider. I noticed there are a lot of mobile homes not in parks but on land you buy with the home. Does this make for less stereotypical residents as opposed to those in mobile home parks?
Anything to do other than gamble in Laughlin? Conveniences? Going upscale, etc etc etc?
Thanks

Bullhead City Sets Heat Records
I have lived in Arizona for the past 20 years. Bullhead City is known for HEAT. Each summer it is on the news for its record heat waves. Some people like it hot. If you like heat, it is the place to go!

Bullhead city get upwards of 133 degrees with 8 - 30 percent humidity. So hot hot hot and yes it gets hot. the jobs suck out here. most people work at the casinos in laughlin nv. the adverage wage is about 7.25 hr. but the adverage housing is 237,000. so you can guess why people are moving out of bullhead now. the fastest growth rate for forclousure in az is bullhead city. There is alot of transits out here too.

Thanks for the info.
I've heard all about the heat but never heard about 133 degrees. What do you mean by "transits"? I've read elsewhere that Bullhead is experiencing tremendous growth. What kind of insects does one have to deal with? Are there really big spiders for example?

sorry (transient)
as for the heat there is no wheather station here in bullhead because of the heat so they use an adverage between lake havasu, kingman, and vegas to guess our weather. last year 133 for 3 days, the year before 130 for 5 days. Bullhead is the hottest peak living city in the country not the hottest area like death valley. Needles ca. is the hottest adverage living city. So yes your looking at a very hot zone.
Bugs haha there isn't alot that can live out here with the heat. This area of the country does house the highest amount of black widows and scorpions. There is lizards and geckos, coyotes, oh yes a nasty nasty bug that comes out here for only a couple of months the TARANTULA WASP. There is like 3-4 different kinds, but of course the one we get is the biggest one of them it's about 4 inches long and very nasty. then there is the big cockroach and the water bugs (stink bugs).

I think I read that the highest record temp for Bullhead was 122 which is obviously very hot. I am in the process of talking to a Realtor and looking at properties, are there any good things that you like about the area? Why are you sticking around if you don't like it?
My skin is crawling thinking about those bugs, though I like the lizards and coyotes. How often (if at all) have you confronted outside and then inside your home 1) scorpions 2)black widows 3)water bugs (which are basically big roaches, right?) Are water bugs more common right near the river as is the case here in Chicago?
And what in the name of all that's unholy is a tarantula wasp? Sounds horrible!
By the way, how long have you lived there? And lastly, how is crime?
I appreciate your input.

That was cool! I wish they separated the scrolling text from the movie though-how are you supposed to watch both at the same time?!
