If 6 flags were to actually plan a Theme park for Williams then they should tailor it to the area. Some of the attractions should fit the location. I have a few suggestions.

The Copper Mine of Death Ride
Scorpion Hunt
The Puke Your Guts Out Pungi Jump
Hell’s Angels Gauntlet Run
Trailer Tour
Rattlesnake walk
2AM Train Station Jaunt
I-40, 7K Midnight Marathon
Truck Stop Pickup
Digging Through The Ruins of Rte.66

Hey! I’m just having a little fun here. William’s is arguably the garden spot of North Central Arizona.

The Theme park is not a scam it has been endorsed by the Governor who is now in charge of Homeland security for the entire United States, the Congress of Arizona and the City of Williams among others

Gov. Janet Napolitano gave the green light Wednesday to a special taxing district that could help a private investment group put theme parks and roller-coaster rides in west Phoenix and the northern Arizona city of Williams.

Napolitano said she signed the "theme park" district legislation, House Bill 2365, because it could boost rural tourism and doesn't cost taxpayers a dime.

I am in favor of the William Theme Park that has been endorsed by the Governor, the Congress and the City of Williams among others. You are entitled to your opinion and I to mine.

they aren't called Congress!!....it's the state legislature....are you trying to puff this up and make it sound more impressive than it is??.....

and your article is over four years old....back at the very peak of the real estate speculation that has hurt so many people now!!.....

the opinion here is not necessarily anti-theme park....most people here see that this just isn't economically feasible and could cost Williams dearly in the end with infrastructure costs and possible liability for a failed project.....

yes, millions go thru Williams every year on the way to the canyon.....to see the canyon.....and for six months of the year, nobody wants to traipse around in the cold at an outdoor "non-natural" attraction......

does anybody know if there's been any movement on this project at all in the last couple years??

(1) This article is over 4 years old
(2) There has been no activity regarding this project since this announcement
(3) You are affiliated with this project yet are disingenuously trying to portray yourself as an ordinary resident who just wants to see a theme park built. A person who wasn't affiliated with this project wouldn't have over 30 responses in this thread with details regarding meetings, unpublished website information and investor links.
(4) You are trying to renew interest in this project by continually responding to this thread and denying this project is dead.

Here are some fun facts to know and tell about the Grand Canyon Amusement Park.

1) NONE of the principals involved have ever built anything according to their biographies on their website, much less something the size of a theme park. Frankly, they are nobodies. And yet these nobodies are building not one, but TWO theme parks at the same time (Phoenix and Williams).

2) Their website ( Grand Canyon Land Company: Frequently Asked Questions ) shows the project as beginning in 2009 as the planning and finance phase, completely ignoring the past 4 years that they've been in operation.

3) The theme park developers got bagged employing dirty politics to get around county supervisors concerns by lobbying state legislators. See article: azdailysun.com News

4) The state of PA recently issued a Cease and Desist order against the project from fund raising in their state. https://www.secure.psc.state.pa.us/r...71251349512531

5) The mastermind and founder of this shennanigans is one Colin Salisbury who among other ventures, operates this website: Welcome to Explode-Your-Profits.com. A website that promises you how to be a millionaire by marketing. Of course, even the name Salisbury is ironic given that a Salisbury Steak is just a hamburger with good marketing.

The papers were full of plans to build another one in Eloy. Imagine that, the middle of the dust bowl in 117 degree heat, I wonder what the theme would be?

Anyway, as I pointed out, Six Flags declared Bankruptcy.
