lacal...Blame it on Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday, the Clanton Gang. They started the it all. Now everyone wants to get into the act.

Starbucks has replaced the coffee stop, the roadside tourist attraction is now a glaring ultra tribute to europe and not Arizona.

Please leave Tombstone and Bisbee as it is. I much prefer it that way.
There are a few other small communities here in Arizona that have the vibe you are looking it as well.

Great point, Lacal . . . Sedona is a perfect example of what can and does GO WRONG!

I LOVE Tombstone! Such a fun place. I think I got one of the best margaritas north of the border there. Bisbee too, very artsy quirky.
We bought a 36 acre parcel off Davis Rd between Tombstone and McNeal . . . my broker friends down there tell me there is a theme park a la Six Flags going in around there somewhere. Haven't authenticated that but certainly that could affect growth in the area if it's true. Anyone local there know anything about it, let me know?
One thing I know for sure . . . the property taxes sure have gone up since we bought there in 2004! Mine on my parcel has more than tripled.

Arizonabear,
what towns are you talking about,( if you don't mind.) We are planning a road trip now, and want to come to southern AZ.
thanks, iriegirl.

Default Tombstone is hell. Bisbee just wants to be.

Bisbee used to be a fun place with lots of cheap houses, artists being artists, and an anarchic sense of community.

Then they came.

Now you can buy a miner's shack for just under $200,000! Really, you'll love it. Kissing bugs, scorpions, thousands of immigrants, thousands of border patrol and vigilantes chasing the immigrants, lots of drug running and drug addicts.

You can view all of this from your shack and more!

It's kind of like living in L. A. only not really.

Tombstone is full of demented old people who drink too much. They walk around dressed in cowboy costumes thinking they are in a Western movie.

Only they actually want to BE in a Western movie so they have become the vigilantes that haunt Bisbee by night and by day.

Be afraid. They do shoot people by mistake.

Tombstone and Bisbee. One town is full of old yuppies who think they are artists. The other is full of senile old farts who think they are cowboys.

Yeesh.
