When I was stationed at Ft. Huachuca I would spend alot of time in Bisbee. Every weekend I either spent with friends in Tempe or in Bisbee. I got to know a few people there. I loved it!
I was there in 1995. And I have to say that at that time there was a bit of a "Stuck in 1968" vibe, but not so much that it would prevent me from wanting to live there. Also, a lot of people moved there to raise kids. Those kids are now older and I'm sure that they've had an impact on the towns culture.
1995 was 12 years ago. I wonder how its changed?

Mmm... the first time I was there would be 10-11 years ago. I don't find it changed at all...

I loved Bisbee also!! I live near Fashion Sq. now in a patio home and would love to sell it-bank some $$ and get a new doublewide and live in Bisbee!! Trade one tourist town for another!! Getting to be toooooo much traffic here. The houses in Bisbee didn't look to sturdy to me and would probably have to gut them to update the interior.
Sure like the small town feel though and the weather would be better than here!
Have looked in the Show Low area but that's getting a little pricey up there. Also the fires make me nervous.

I live about 3 miles S of you so I know of what you speak of re: Scottsdale traffic.

After touring in Bisbee for about 3 hours, what else is there to do there?
Bisbee seems to me to be a truck stop area, a bathroom break area, and maybe a gas fillup after leaving Kartchner Caverns down the road.
Tombstone is strictly a tourist town. Can get old and boring after awhile.
If you look on any road map you'll see that all the towns are about 1 hour apart on I-10. They were originally there for pit stops for the weary travelers from Tucson to El Paso.

Wow, you'd be the first I've heard of going that far out of the way to find a pit stop! You may do "your business" even before getting to Tombstone from I-10! You sure you've ever been to Bisbee & Tombstone we're talking about?! Because otherwise your comment would be irrelevant.

Who moved Bisbee to the I-10? Where on the I-10 is Bisbee?
Are there two Bisbee's?

Apparently nitram did! Must've done it recently. As you can see from my first post, I was there not so long ago and Bisbee wasn't moved yet.

I think I saw it blow past me at 85 MPH as I was nearing Benson.

My mistake, was thinking of Benson when should have been thinking of Bisbee. The medicine the doc gave me today for a sinus problem got things fuzzy upstairs. Sorry about that. Maybe you can delete my post. Thankyou.

No problem. Gave me a good laugh so I enjoyed it. You're not the first person to make a goof on a post and won't be the last.
