Default Vehicle license plate fees, vehicle window sticker fees?

Curious as to what the fees amount to?

It depends on the car, in terms of the registration fees. You can go to the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division website, http://www.azdot.gov/mvd/faqs/script...ory=2&Keyword= and in their FAQs you can find the formula they use, which would give you some idea of what it would cost to register your car. We don't have "window stickers" here; cars registered in Maricopa and Pima counties which are not exempt by the age of the car do have to be emission tested every other year, for around 30.00. If you end up in Yavapai county, where you've been looking, this is not required.

Yes we don't smog up here, nor does most of rural AZ, or so it seems. I did not have to when I lived in the Sierra Vista area or in the Safford areas either.
If you are registering a car that's used here, they will check the VINs and you will pay a fee based on what that model was worth new on a sliding scale going down over I think it's 11 years until you reach the base fee for your car or truck.
My 2006 Toyota Sienna was a $27K van new and this year my renewal is $152. Just so you have an idea.

And the window sticker I think he is talking about is the MSRP, commonly called the monroney sticker in the industry, and is required in all states, even AZ.

We used to have vehicle inspections proved by window stickers here, and I suspect they still do in other states. Until and unless he comes back and says otherwise, I think that's what a "window sticker fee" separate from a "vehicle license plate fee" refers to.

AZ uses a value added tax system. The fee is based on your current vehicles value. Call the MVD and they can give you the exact cost.
