Can anyone verify whether the snow averages listed for Sedona, Cornville, Cottonwood, area are really 12-16 inches in Feb-March time frame. Seems like alot to me() Thanks for any info.

shibagirl - Yes! Something seems very wacky about those snow averages. I live here in Prescott (where we do get an occasional snow), and in the 6 years I've lived here, I don't think we've gotten that much, and Sedona & Cottonwood would get less than we do. In fact, I didn't think Cottonwood hardly ever got snow, since it's pretty warm there. Sedona will occasionally get some snow, but I wouldn't think they'd get 12" for a whole season, let alone a couple of months. March is usually a pretty nice month, here. Rain much more likely because the temps are warming up then.

We have had about 30-40 inches of snow the last few winters up here in Payson...usually coming in a few 'major' storms and melted a few days later...we love it!

Average Total Snowfall for Prescott Valley is 15.9". This sounds like a lot, but if you think about it, 16" represents only 8 2" snows over a 3 month period. The snow rarely covers the roads. Typically we get a beautiful cover of white that melts within several hours of the sun coming up. That's another thing... back east, the snow falls and sits for days and there is constant cloud cover - all dreary. Here, the snow falls and then the sun is shining again!

Cottonwood and Cornville hardly get snow and if they did it would melt in a day.
