Default NC to AZ - Unemployment Help!!

Ok I moved here feb 27th from NC. I receive unemployment from NC and took a part time job telemarketing trying to make some kind of money because ue will not pay the bills! Well, after two weeks got my first check and obviously neither will this job. I make more on ue a week then I do here. What should or can I do? I am not making my sales so after a month they said I would get fired anyways.......

My quick response would be to ask if you are open to waiting tables? You may want to try some temp agencies if you haven't already done so. You never specified if you had any other skills. You are right, ue will not pay the bills. Good luck!

Look for a better job, or maybe not move again without one.

I'm not sure I understand your question. It sounds as if you need to look for another job. What sort of help are you asking for here?

You definitely need to keep looking for work if you are fired from this job... you need to keep your eligibility for unemployment under NC law. Be sure you are familiar with all their requirements.

What can I tell ya. It was a bad decision to move here without either a decent job or a sizeable amount of savings built up. There are no jobs in Phoenix right now, even for those of us that have some kind of college degree or formal training. If you're just looking to get by until the economy takes a turn for the better I would start looking at Starbucks, Home Depot or Lowes, Jiffy Lube or maybe the Maricopa County Community Colleges. Once you establish a formal residency get some schooling at the community colleges, a technical institute or even ASU, UofA or NAU.

School is good. You have to ask yourself "Do I want to be a just survive employee the rest of my life?".

Definately start looking for another job, asap. Try walmart, or other stores and flood the internet with applications.
