Does Kingman have rules and laws to prevent employers from firing an employee because they get sick and can not receive any medical treatment from doctors in the Kingman area. Why is it that a person with a female medical problem can go to 2 different doctors in Kingman and have test done and then told that a surgery schedule would have to be setup, but when the person call's both of the doctors back to find out when their date for the surgery is scheduled for, both doctors state that they do not know what this person is talking about. Some how this does not sound or look to be very professional or having the ability to receive proper and competent medical help or treatment in the Kingman area. And why do the elected officials in kingman allow a business to fire an employee after a few years of working there just because they get sick,or don't those elected officials care about their voters after they get elected. This person has worked for about 2 years for this non-profit business on Airway Ave,sometimes 5,6 or 7 days a week from 8 to 12 hours a day.![]() |

I agree, Sablebaby . . . there's gotta be more to this story even though Arizona is a "right to work" state!

Kingman is a 'funny' place------as in there is rather little respect for the 'little guy/gal' from what I have heard/observed.
Example: when Albertsons closed last year; a competing grocery store chain allegedly flat refused to pay anywhere what the former store paid its bakery/deli people------nver mind that virtually all of the applicants off the street failed drug tests for the above positions at the second store. To my way of thinking; it makes more sense to pay the $10-12 an hour that Albertsons used to offer and have qualified employees than pay $7-8 an hour for incapable people-------even after skeining them out of the Meth head pool. ![]() As for me; a tire shop there about 2 years ago offered me $8.50 per 'clock' hour------yet a place near Bullhead offered me $29 per flat rate hour which on average offered about $16 per clock hour. Same position: car/truck alignment technician. And Kingman businesses whine about being unable to find decent help. ![]() |

Any right you have would be under the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Kingman or any other city would not have any city ordinances which would apply in all liklihood.

I would also say covered under FMLA but we need to hear both sides of this story not just one opinion.
