Arizona is my favorite state out of all the states I have lived in.

I can only compare Arizona to California and Virginia seeing as those two states are the only other states I've lived in (and I don't even remember VA that well seeing as I was so young when I moved).

You really can't beat Arizona. Arizona is like having three states in one, the culture and topography/climate of the state is so diverse. You have the big city of Phoenix, the snow top mountains up north, the grand canyon, the red rocks of Sedona, the amazing scenery of Prescott and its surrounding areas, the Senoran desert home to North America's most beautiful sunsets and cacti .....all in one state! Arizona also has great location seeing as we are close to California, Colorado, Utah, and the ocean is only 60 miles away from the Arizona boarder.

I can compare Arizona to Colorado, California, New Mexico, Minnesota and Florida. The only place that comes close is Colorado maybe New Mexico but I hated the cold there.

Even for its faults (which I feel strongly about) Arizonas a pretty special place. New Mexico made me feel at peace, it's so quiet and barren, I might retire there. Colorado has an economy that runs laps around us but I visit there enough to say that pending some opportunity I wouldn't move there, either way neither is home.

I don't really have a "best", I think all of the places I have lived in are very unique and "best" in their own way, if that makes any sense. It could just be my happy-go-lucky, laid-back personality though.

I have lived in:

Pennsylvania, born and raised (lived in both NEPA and south central PA)
Arizona (Tucson)
Hawai'i (Volcano)
North Carolina (the Triangle)
Midway Atoll
Antarctica (Palmer and McMurdo Stations, 2 full winters and a part of a third)

I have a place in CA, and one here. I travel quite a bit around this nation and have been to a few countries. I have to say yes, AZ is my favorite place. There's just something lazy and comfortable about AZ. It also feels distant from other states, as if it's on it's own gear. No shirt, no shoes, no problem. lol

I think certain personalities appreciate AZ, and certain personalities just do not.

Ive only lived in 3 states (IL, TN, and AZ), and its my fave of the 3 so far. Sure there are tons of negatives that come with living here, but the positives outweigh them. Overall I give AZ a B+.

For not having an ocean Arizona packs a pretty good punch as a great place to live. The outdoors adventures are nearly endless, my biggest complaint is that the state really struggles to protect much of the beauty that was here when people arrived. It seems with population growth the regulation will have to come as people on their own will destroy even the most scenic of places.

I have only lived here so... I guess I can't vote. But Arizona will always be in the top 3 if I ever do move out, since Arizona is my home. I'd like this place more if it wasn't so hot for half the year. I'm not a heat tolerant person.

LOL at some of the people who voted "no" who have NEVER lived in Arizona. I've seen some of their past questions on the forum asking what it's like to live in AZ/Phx/ect. this forum is too much sometimes...
