I have been strongly sensing the housing market was going to crash for the last 2 years but; this company facing bankruptcy flat blindsided me.

I heard about this maybe a month ago. 700 people out of work on this job alone!
I noticed they are renting brand new houses in the Laughlin Ranch subdivision for REALLY cheap.

Few people believed me; but, 2 years age I kept predicting that the housing market would drop about 40% in value from its peak.

Note though that part of that decline would be caused by inflation; read that the '$$$' price may remain somewhat stable, but the actual values would decline.

2009-10 real estate should start appreciating again.

Good call, Bear. That's exactly what is happening right now.
(This post came up in a search for Laughlin Ranch, which I'm researching for a blog post)

He's almost clairvoyant. Warren Buffet should be calling him up to offer him a job any day now.
