Which city is more comparable to Austin, TX? I lived there for a couple of years.

Probably neither one is very comparable, since the climate, particularly the humidity you are concerned about, is so different. Size-wise, it would be Tucson. Beyond that, I don't think there is much similarity.

Im talking about the feel of the city. Austin has lots to do but feels like a suburb than a large city. I have heard thar Tucson feels this way as well. How does Phoenix feel?

Phoenix is either the fifth or sixth largest city IN THE NATION. Even its suburbs are large cities in themselves. As I said before, Tucson would be more comparable, although I'm not sure it "feels like a suburb", it doesn't feel like a large city, either.

You will appreciate how many dry days we actually have. Only a handful of humid ones. Should be great for you. You will love, love, love it.

I'm just a tad nervous about moving to Tucson next year, as I gauge overall humidity levels to the average amount of precipitation every year.

I see Phoenix gets about 7.5-8 inches of precip. a year, and Tucson gets 10-11 inches a year, and I'll be moving from Las Vegas which is the driest of the 3, with about 4 inches a year. And you have no idea what a scaredy-cat/wimp I've become with humidity!!!

But hopefully I'll survive that extra dose of humidity!

Except for the summer monsoon season, which is from July to September, humidity in Phoenix and Tucson is usually low. Both cities get very hot in the summer, but Phoenix is almost always hotter and drier that Tucson because of it's lower elevation.

Native Arizonans will tell you that it's "Humid" outside, but they don't seem to actually know what humidity is, since it's even drier than my hometown in California (which nobody calls humid). It is more humid in July-September than it is the rest of the year, but it is not actually humid.

The monsoon season brings increased humidity levels with hot temps. As Doctacity pointed out it is mainly July to September and then the humidity calms down for AZ.
