Did any of you hear the latest on Florence - how scary for the kids and residents there...
2 murderers overpowered some officers - used a ladder and escaped - they are pursuing them - I heard this am they did find one - but since the first of the week - all schools were put in lockdown and no children can go home without parent pickup at school or at the end of the bus ride.. Pretty scary to live out that way ![]() |

Privatized prisons once again. Public safety should not be entrusted to the lowest bidder. One has been caught and the other is probably in Gilbert by now. They were prisoners from Washington.

CCA pays it's COs better than ASP can. I won't argue the security issue though. When mr. vanderpool was the Pinal County Sheriff, (now the Director of The Department of Public Safety) he rented beds to ASP in the county jail! Many of our non-violent misdemeanor arrests were turned away for lack of space. Talk about pissing off street cops! I don't know if Vasquez changed anything when he took over; they were pretty tight.
