Default Spanish should be the Official Language in Douglas, Arizona

I am am curious as to why Spanish is not the official language in Douglas, Arizona. The city leaders in Douglas, Arizona should go ahead and draw up a propostion to make Spanish the official language in Douglas, Arizona. I have never been to a city where there is such a language barrier as in Douglas, Arizona.

If you ever go to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas well it is nothing like Douglas, Arizona. Communication in English is possible with the majority of residents in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas and all along Texas along the US- Mexico border. Also in California along the US- Mexico border you really do not have to be able to speak spanish to communicate. Douglas, Arizona is another animal in this regards. In Douglas, Arizona if you cannot speak spanish then you are going to have problems.

NO "official" anything unless it's English. Even along places by the Mexican border.

Sadly, Demps, regardless of the BS out of Washington and the Illegal Lovers . . .

Enablers, and I do mean ENABLERS, are not helping anyone by encouraging and supporting the use of Spanish over English in Douglas or any city in this country. Sure it is possible to survive in Douglas but to really survive and prosper in the United States, English is a must. Spanish only is like an anchor and definitely counterproductive.

The big question . . . are they moving to the United States for a "better life" or just moving for the sake of moving and plan to continue their Third World lifestyle.

Douglas was part of Mexico bfore it was sold to the US. Many of those people have roots there going back to before it was part of the US

Which don't mean a thing in 2012. It WAS Mexico for what, maybe 40 years, tops? Mexico has NO claim to that land. We've had that land for more than 150 years. Sheesh!
