Default Thinking of moving

Hi, I'm new here. My family and I are thinking of relocating to Tombstone, AZ. Could someone tell me what the job situation is like there? Also, what about homes and schools? Is Tombstone a good place to live?

My husband is really into American history, especially the "wild west" and especially Tombstone. I also suffer from severe arthritis which is why I'm now disabled.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Default Asking about Tombstone Az

I live in Sierra Vista which is real close to Tombstone. Understand that Tombstone is tourist type town and as such its economy and population are service oriented. Although this entire southern region of AZ has experienced alot of growth in housing, I haven't seen great building in that area.

Tombstone does enjoy a good respectable school district. Many from SV take their children there to aviod the 2900 plus hight school population here. If you are looking for a quiet little and I mean little retirement area. it may suit you. For the history fan in the family, this area has plenty of topics.

Good luck.

Tombstone is a 'tourist' town (now). There's no 'sprawl tho... Maybe (not certain) that it's prob'ly on the 'historic places' registry 'n that's forbidden. Rt 80 runs right thru the middle of it. Bisbee is about 20 miles south and Tucson about 80 miles north. I-10 is the main highway outta Benson and will take you to Tucson/Phoenix or west to Las Cruces/El Paso. I wouldn't recommend Bisbee unless you're part goat and VERY liberal. If your husband is into 'the old west'... Tombstone is the place tho. 125th anniversaryof the OK Corral gunfight 'comin' up on Oct 26th. 'Should be mobbed. I'll be there.

Thanks for the replies. Right now, we have to stay where we are. My parents are getting up there age wise, and they're trying to convince us (my husband) of moving back to Chicago. I wouldn't mind moving back to help out my family, but my hubby doesn't want to move back for various reasons.

I also heard that there are some nasty bugs and spiders out there. Just how back are the creepy crawlies in AZ/NM?
