For better or worse (hopefully the previous) the Hopi have decided to open more of their land to tourism. There's allegedly some amazing sites to be seen at the Hopi Reservation. Tours are in operation but they can become costly (especially for folks like myself with little income) and this might be a great way for many to see more of beauty this state has to behold. On the downside, it could harm some of the local tourism business. We shall see.

Here's a story about the subject from The Republic.

A number of years ago I was able to visit the reservation and see the three mesas. I stopped at one which had a visitor center and museum, it’s very interesting. I didn’t have any trouble however a visitor MUST be very respectful and don’t have any misunderstandings of what you’re going to see there. This is a very isolated area with and everything is limited. Some might say that it’s very backward and primitive, and yes it is primitive. Again, being respectful and knowing a little about what you might be visiting before you even go there is good advice.
