They are amazing little buggers, aren't they?

Right now I'm sitting at my desk, drinking my morning coffee, looking out and "The Squatter" has taken over. Whenever another Hummer shows up, he "puffs up" and flaps his wings "violently" trying to scare the other guy or guys off.

Definitely entertaining considering he is less than 2 inches tall and weighs in at a hefty 2 ounces.

I have a lot of hummingbirds, too. They are fun to watch! There is always one that tries to dominate the feeder and he hangs out and attempts to drive any others away that want to drink from the succulent nectar teet. Crazy little bugger.

We DID have a scorpion problem at my house. They were all living on and around this clump of palms and this one pineapple plant that were about 10 feet from the side of my house. I'd find 6-10 per night over there till I had my whole property sprayed. Haven't seen one for about 9 months. *knock on wood*

Quail. Little devils are all over the place. Especially the tiny young ones (balls of feathers with legs).

On the other hand, they are kind of cute...
