I think it's usually under $3.00 a gallon in Phoenix. I only buy half gallons of organic for $3-$3.50.

Great question, sfw!

If you watch the weekly grocery ads . . . milk runs between $1.79 and $1.99 a gallon. Otherwise, you can always pick up a "two pack" for about $5 at either Costco or Sams.

I drink at least two gallons a week and I have never paid more than $2.50 . . . usually less.

Wow, Bummer, knowing you live in Tucson I'd like to know where in the world you shop! I haven't seen a gallon of milk for less than $3 (and that's "on sale" or "club" price, aka BS , or the store brand) for the longest time. Talking about regular grocery stores, not Costco or Sam's. The only possibility I can think of would be Wal-Mart neighborhood stores (I'm yet to check one out).

Norman, Oklahoma ~ Wal-Mart 1 Gallon $4.29 today. I've heard that the convenience stores are charging about $3.50 but I haven't seen it...

**UPDATE** - Okay, so I feel REALLY stupid right now! Just saw this was an Arizona thread ~ so sorry! :-)

Ya gotta get out more, SierraAZ

Just last week, Albertsons had milk at 10 Half Gallons for $10 (they never make you buy all ten) and Frys had it for $1.99 a Gallon. I haven't needed any recently so I haven't bothered to check.

Don't you get those Sale Ads in the mail at the beginning of each week?

Heh, I think we're all aware that certain item can be found way cheaper at a certain time at a certain place. I was talking about regular shopping, not "cherry picking." Not that anything's wrong with "cherry picking"...

This post is not about "cherries" . . . it is about the price of MILK! ! ! ! !

All joking aside . . . the only sure thing would be Costco and Sams Club running about 5 bucks for two gallons.

Oh, good morning, Bummer!

Do I have to explain to a native-born American the concept of "cherry picking"...?!

Cherry Picking (definition) – Is when consumers jump from store to store, buying only the items (services) that are on deal (special).

Cherry Picking is widely seen as limiting the effect of Loss Leader pricing. In our industry, even if we are successful in selling this "cherry picking" customer other services, which is doubtful, the likelihood of them being a "loyal customer" is even more doubtful.
