About 80 miles from Tucson and it seems like 40 minutes away in ok traffic from suburbs like Chandler and Tempe, so I would have somewhat of an easy drive to Metro Phoenix from Casa Grande.
Is the weather more like Phoenix or Tucson?
Is there mass transit to Phoenix?

Thanks.

No, there is no mass transit to/from Phoenix. There is still an express bus from Maricopa, but that's morning in/evening out travel only.

It's probably a few degrees cooler in the summer , especially in terms of the low temps, but I'd say the weather is pretty close to Phoenix weather. Can also be a bit colder in the winter in terms of the low temps. It's been a LONG time since I lived there, so this is more from observation than personal experience.

Distance seems a little off but that could just be where you are headed specifically into Phoenix/Tuscon. Both are rather large cities. You can reach the outskirts of either city (Thereby having access to malls and shopping > than that of Casa Grande) in 30 mins and 45 mins respectively.

The freeways leaving both cities does get congested once you reach those outskirts if you are traveling during rush hour. I-10 can occasionally have accidents that quickly backs up traffic for several miles. It's a deceptive heavily used freeway because it's out in the open and there are no significant turn-offs between Tuscon and Phoenix. Yet, it's fast flowing if that makes any sense. There is currently construction to turn that entire section of freeway between the two cities into three lanes.

I would agree that the weather is more like PHX. Being not as developed, CG doesn't heat up as much leading to slightly cooler temperatures (3-5F) but not as cool as Tuscon.

As far as the job market here is concerned. It's changing for the better, but 'they' have been saying that for awhile. It would really depend on what type of work you are looking for. Manufacturing should take off within the next year. The building of PhoenixMart finally scheduled to start in November, Franklin Foods just opened a cream cheese factory, Sam's Club started construction on their new facitlity, and Ehrmann is constructing a yogurt factory as well. That's a roughly projected 4000 new jobs being dumped onto a normal population of 45k.
