In reality, I'm only moderately in favor of Prop 205. One thing I dislike about this initiative is the creation of a Department of Marijuana Licenses & Control, which is actually creating MORE government intervention! Even so, I'm still going to vote for Prop 205. The one big reason I favor legalization of marijuana is the laws against it are obviously not stopping the trade, the usage, or the addiction ... in fact, the underground market is stimulated whenever these things are banned. The gov't has wasted our tax dollars fighting this so called drug war and imprisoning people for possession that it's time to wake up and realize that we're not combatting the problem at all.

Personally, I hate marijuana. I can't stand the smell, and I don't care to be around people who are habitual users ... but at the same time, I don't care to be around alcoholics or cigarette smokers either. I figure that if those annoyances are perfectly legal, why shouldn't marijuana be included as well?

That's unnecessary and I know for damned sure Colorado doesn't have that as part of Amendment 64. Also, if a city doesn't want marijuana in their jurisdiction, they're able to opt out of it unlike Prop 205.

The first television ad, "Regulation Works,” starts running today across Arizona. The ad highlights some of the benefits of regulating and taxing marijuana and sets the record straight about the impact a similar ballot initiative has had in Colorado.
