It's expensive and it's scary walking to and from your car.

I agree that you can drop a lot of money there. I guess some people are more paranoid than I am. We park at a friends house a few blocks away and walk to the fair from there. I have never been afraid and have never had any reason to be. Maybe it would be less intimidating to park in the big public lots across from the entrance.

Aside from the expense and the possible "fear factor", the fair is a lot of fun especially for kids. It's the usual carnival stuff on a grand scale - rides, rides, and more rides, the games, animal barns, rodeo stuff, booths and displays, and the fair food which is really the best part. Free concerts, too. Ride the aerial tram if it's your first time and you can see where everything is at. Lots of teenagers and Mexicans if that bothers you. The cops keep a tight lid on the place and you rarely, if ever, hear of any incidents there. They have days when the rides are cheaper and admission is reduced, but I think those are probably gone for this year. We don't go every year, but we have a lot of nice memories of the state fair.

Bungle is on a distinguished road
I went on opening night. It was a madhouse. If you take the kids I would suggest during the week...during the day. This is what a weekend night looks like

Joshhh is an unknown quantity at this point
It depends on how comfortable you feel with a bunch of wannabe gangsters running around, I wouldnt suggest taking your kids at night, a sunday morning woudlnt be bad, but it gets BUSY.

We usually go on the $1 ride nights, I am actually going next wednesday.
