This page link should clarify the difference between Hispanic and Latino/Latina, I hope.

Default illegal immigration

It seems that there is a lot of opinions on this board regarding illegals. I on some level feel for these people. They are extremely poor and deseprate. People will do alot of things out of desperation. That being said, I think that people should obey that law and go through the proper channels. One of the reasons that we should regulate our borders is just to know who is coming in and out. What about the whole terrrisom threat? Most people haven't even mentioned this.

Just about every country in the world has very strict border control. I recently saw Vicente Foxx on various tv and radio show plugging his new book. He was critical of the US on wanting to build a wall between Mexcio and the US. When one of the callers pointed out the Mexico has armed military on it's southern border, he started to ho hum and avoid the question.

There isn't really a true incentive for us to control the border properly. If we really wanted to, don't you think it would happen. The US government put a man on the moon in 69 and yet we can't control our borders There is too much special interest involved. The democrates want future voters, big business wants cheaper labor. Unions would probably benefit as future members, Catholic churches get more members, just to name a few.

If you say any of this stuff out loud you are automatically a racist. My significant other is of mexican decent,so I don't have an issue with Mexicans.

Just my 2 cents.

It gets 'better':

Jose Gonzalez is a Swedish musician

Maria Arredondo is a Norwegian singer

Felipe Fernandez-Armesta (sp) is an English professor

Amanda Rodriguez is an Australian 'beach bum'.

Armando Diaz was an Italian general

All may be of Hispanic/Latino heritage yet all would be counted as Anglo here in the USA.

I remember reading somewhere( and I do not have the source now) that illegals coming here, working, and sending huge portions of their pay back to Mexico is actually the second or third largest source of revenue for their economy behind oil exports. So the Mexican government has every reason to not help control the border.

However, I think that if our government wanted to we could get the Mexican authorities on our side immediately. We as taxpayers are forced to pay for things like welfare, medical, schooling, etc. for Mexican citizen's who come here illegally. We could start sending “bills” to the Mexican gov. for "services rendered" for THEIR citizens who have violated the law in coming here illegally and incurring various costs. We could threaten to diminish or stop trade with them altogether until their bills have been paid. Send them a bill or two for $100 Billion and the border would be sealed up tight by dinner time.

Here is a page link to the story that RickieInPhx is referring to regarding illegals sending money from the US to their home countries.

Default but...but...but wait...ILLEGALS "arent coming here to hurt anyone"

"Yuma Border Patrol Agent killed by smugglers 1/19"

Interesting story.

I wonder if this is one of those ILLEGALS who was "only coming here to make a better life for his family". Well he did succeed in destroying the family of that Border Patrol agent.

The madness goes on...

The day before smugglers ran over the Border Patrol agent, the Yuma Sun reported the biggest ever pot bust (1 & 1/2 tons) at the San Luis port of entry. Smugglers gotta earn a living too and who is Border Patrol to get in their way? Good thing Johnny Sutton's out there.

News: : YumaSun

They ran over that Border Patrol agent with a hummer, then "fled back into Mexico" like they always do. Of course if they'd build the fence, that couldn't happen. Meanwhile, South Carolina Republicans, whose second concern to the economy is illegal immigration, just voted for Juan McAmnesty. Go figure.
