Ignorant, racist garbage like this just makes the job of reasonable people who want better border security that much more difficult.

I'll repeat my post to LordBalfor; with all due respect, if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen. Any member that posts a controversial and/or insulting statement needs to be prepared to accept the consequences, including myself.

First Amendment rules do NOT apply on a privately-run board. The moderators have the final say on such a board. You are free to say whatever you want - but not on their nickel - hence the rules they set up. Someone can be booted off at any time if they violate the rules. Hence the warning that was recently posted on the Immigration Board.

The other poster acknowledged the above already

PS - From the "Sticky" posted on the immigration board:

"I'm not going to go into a long dissertation on this, but things have begun to get out of control on the Immigration forum and I'd like to state a few points.

First, read the Terms of Service, which can be found at the link below:

Terms of Service - City-Data Forum

Second. I will no longer tolerate subtle personal attacks, calling or inferring racism, talk of killing people for being here illegally, subtle hints to either, and much more.

You all need to be aware of one thing; irrational attacks on either side of the issue will not do anything except frustrate the person trying to argue their point.

Once that line has been crossed, it turns out to be a free-for-all and there is nothing to be gained. Nobody will change anyone's mind, they'll just infuriate and obfuscate.

From this point forward, I will be less lenient on posters who try to infuriate, make off topic remarks, and generally devolve these discussions into nothing more than a name-calling event or "who can post last."

Whether you are for or against illegal immigration, these rules apply to ALL.

Now, let's see if we can clean up these discussions and behave like civilized people, ok?"

The red highlighting was mine, to call attention to the specific statement.

Ken, No one is chasing anyone anywhere. I was trying to make a point that all forum topics are not suitable for all members. Some people have a higher level of confrontational tolerance than others. Personally, my level of tolerance is not capped, but I'm just speaking personally. I'm familiar with the TOS for this board and I'm not defying them, I'm just expanding them to accommodate my level of posting tolerance. Sure I or anyone else can be kicked off the board, but what does that accomplish? You may silence my voice but some person will take my place. I lost all fear of intimidation when I was a rifleman with the 4th Infantry Division in Viet-Nam at the tender age of 19. I've had the past 42 years to hone my skills. Steve

The Immigration topic is plenty suitable for me. Folks just need to obey the rules they agreed to when they signed up on the board. Those rules are there for a reason - to keep the board civilized and on the specific subject of the particular thread.

My point is, wayyyyyyy too many folks on the Immigration Board are using it inappropriately. That is not just MY opinion, but obviously the opinion of the moderator of that board as well - otherwise the moderator would not have posted the warning.

In any event, THIS thread is drifting off topic as well, so I'll leave it at that.

I may be Nordic White; that stated, if a bunch of blond haired blue eyed Swedes illegally immigrated to my country (USA) and not only jabbered in Swedish and had no intention of assimilating----------I would be furious at best.

In the interests of civility and general board operations, I'll remove this thread from my subscribed list. Regards, Steve Hazzard
