Americans fighting back.. news article link,
Good article; thanks for posting the link. BTW, I believe that I've seen Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio on TV more times than any other law enforcement officer on the country! Sheriff Arpaio has an instantly recognizable face; maybe there's a carreer in the media when he hangs up his gunbelt for the last time! Sheriff Joe knows the law and how to work it to the greatest detriment of the bad guys! He's s true American hero!

I wish you guys luck. Deporting illegal immigrants and cutting off cheap labor will raise everyone's living standards. I for one never figured out why vegetable picking has not been automated by now. Hopefully the new law enforcement will send the illegals packing and you can reclaim your lives!

IMO, picking vegetables by hand is probably more cost efficient than using machines and probably less damaging to the crops. Any other members with some expertise in manual vs. machine crop picking?

At least this way.. Americans who are in need of a job may be able to feed thier family.. and find housing. Progress and growth are things towns and cities utilize to succeed. But if big business continues to fill those jobs with lower paying illegals, what you end up with is a decaying economy for Americans, decaying home prices, more crime and drugs, middle class Americans can't even find a decent home to rent these days. Hospitals-jails-prisons-law enforcement-welfare- and taxes are all ripping at the seems. For now we are still in Indiana.. very small town, country folk, farming. For many many years the farmers and growers have always had Americans working here, long.. long before we were over-run by illegals. Now EVERYWHERE you go, you see illegals working the farms, factories, restaurants. false documentation seems VERY easy to come by.. they busted a mexican grocery store for selling about 200 a month here recently. The crime rate now is crazy.. we NEVER use to have a crime rate! The police are busting them left and right for driving drunk.. they'll hit somebody with thier car, nothing legal! no legal tags, no legal insurance, and your stuck footen the bill, and you never see them again! Americans around here have been doing manual labor jobs and unlike what some may think, they are still willing to do them.. if they could find a job! Everywhere you go, everything you hear, everything you buy at the stores, including groceries has spanish writting splattered all over it! Is anyone else tired of all this,, or is just me?
Our hospitals, 911 call center, police, and all other government offices have ALL had to hire spanish speaking workers now.. gee wonder where they came from? Our once nice little CLEAN American town is no-more.. our American apple pie, county fair, howdy neighbor country is lost!

I agree 100%,,,we are in Ohio at the moment and see the same things here. Although we have purchased a house in Prescott and are moving sometime mid summer. I think the only thing I dread is dealing with Mexicans,,,but in all my visits out there in the Prescott area I really didn't see too many other than a few here and there,,,,hanging around at the corner waiting for their ride to work in the mornings. But I see that here in Ohio as well,,,so nothing new.

So now the law is in effect,,,,are they gone yet????

Once the dust settles, Arizona will be a better place. The majority of folks want this crackdown. It is only a few special interest groups (Latino activist groups, some farmers and businessmen, immigration lawyers, and the mainstream media) who are crying the blues over this.
Illegal means illegal. In other words against the law.
Arizona will survive just fine. Some good and services may go up in price, but that will be compensated for with lower crime, better schools, and less drain on healthcare providers.
The illegals do not respect our borders, language, or culture. These are the very things that make a country. This is why we *cannot* allow the invasion to continue. This is the most powerful, productive, and propserous country the world has ever known. It is insanity to allow it to be overrun with folks from these third world countries, who do not appear to be assimilating very well, and are actually costing us more than they are contributing.
My only fear is that this law will be challenged, and some activist judge or court will say it's unconstitutional and throw it out. I've seen it happen before. One judge or court can overturn the will of the majority. I remember Amendment 2 in Colorado, and Prop. 187 in California. The majority of voters voted "yes" for these, but then activist groups challenged the new laws in court, and the laws ended up being overturned as "unconstitutional."
Let's hope that doesn't happen in Zona.

if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem!

now that these states are cracking down, i predict that their desirability to live in will increase dramatically. i wish florida would get tough on illegals, but governor crist is useless.

Any other laws the gov't. should ignore based on your personal preference?

BTW, I can't remember the last time a homeless person was driving with no car insurance and hit me. But an illegal did so last summer. How many homeless people have lots of kids and use the ER as their primary care/free insurance? Working in downtown Wash. DC I see plenty of homeless folks and most want nothing more than to panhandle for some booze or cheap food.
