I was reading in our paper here in St Clloud Times (MN) that MPR interviewed an owner of a steel plant in Arizona who said the new Arizona law will put him out of business.
He stated he pays $20 per hour yet can't find legal workers.

Anybody know the validity of this claim?

Then, in all due respect towards your newspaper and MRP, marmac . . . maybe the company should not be in business here in Arizona.

There must be more to this claim.

Don't know about the validity of the claim, but the news sounds like music to my ear! It's about time.

Steel plant...?! Starts sounding fishy right here... Is there such an extinct thing in AZ?

Would have been nice if the Op had posted a link. A quick search of the St Cloud Times turned up nada.

according to the posters claim in Minnesota--------the company is named Ironco Inc----the spokesperson is Sheridan Bailey--- they have 100 employees and make steel structures for buildings.

---if--the $20 per hour wages is true, he should move to Minnesota as I guarantee he will be able to find plenty of legals willing to work for those wages that he pays ( or says he pays)

Well, here's a link to the Reuters story, no mention of $20 per hour. The last paragraph on the first page is a interesting read.

IronCo used to be a client of mine when I lived in Phoenix. It's in a pretty scary area of Phoenix, so even for $20 an hour I would really have to think hard before working there.
