Is anyone able to post information about Sierra Vista?

Several mountain ranges surround the City of Sierra Vista. The city's name describes its location and at an elevation of 4,600 feet, the city boasts a view of the Mule, Dragon, Whetstone and Huachuca Mountains. The population is about 42,000, The city annexed Fort Huachuca into its boundaries in 1971. The two communities hold a strong working relationship and share many facilities and joint activities. Similar to that of Pinetop/Lakeside.
Water has been a divisive issue in Southern Arizona, particularly in Sierra Vista. With the massive growth of the city, water, or lack thereof, has come to the forefront from opponents to growth. Many residents of Sierra Vista believe that the uncontrolled growth of the city will eventually dry up the San Pedro river that flows nearby, creating a dire lack of water. Here is the city's website.......... City of Sierra Vista - Home |

I don't know when you were there last, but I have to disagree with your assessment of Sierra Vista. The mountains are beautiful; the weather is hot, but dry, and not as hot as Tucson. It is only boring if you don’t get out and do things, like hiking in the mountains, up Garden Canyon, or Carr Canyon. There is a bike trail around Sierra Vista. There is a mall, albeit it a small mall, that has a movie theater. There are numerous restaurants, both of the national chain variety, and of the local variety. There is an active civic center. I could go on and on, but if all you do is sit in the barracks, I guess that you might find it boring, but if you get out and do things, you will find it quite enjoyable.

I think Sierra Vista is nice. Not all that crime like the big city.People are tired of that. It's not as hot like Tucson.Hiking the Ramsey Canyon is very nice as well.

I was in Sierra Vista last week it is a nice small town the people were friendly. I have no problem living there. My only concern is WATER, where does the city get its water from wells or the San Pedro river and from my understanding a private company manages the city's water supply. Does this concern the locals?

What is the current population of Sierra Vista?
Sorry, i haven't figured out how to post a thread on here yet. Also, I'm 20 and I was wondering what percentage of people in Sierra Vista are between the ages of 18-24? Are there more in Sierra Vista during the summer, like if they're coming back from school? If someone can help me out that would be great! I think Sierra Vista is beautiful and I would like to move there, but I want to make sure that I have a good chance of making friends around my age.
