Default From CT to AZ?

Hi everyone. I am in CT and I wanted to relocate. Where are the good places in AZ that are family friendly and where the job market has growth? I am a single mom who is finishing my degree. Also the crime rate is important. I also have another question. It may sound weird but how about bugs and spiders? This is important to me because I am terrified of things that fly and crawl. So do any of your Arizonians know a good place for me?

Default Phoenix or Tucson

Well, it's probably going to be Phoenix or Tucson, or even Mesa. What is your degree in? The growth would be in the big cities just mentioned, and you could live in any of the surrounding cities, like Scottsdale, Glendale, Peoria, Gilbert, Chandler, the list goes on and on.

Family friendly, that's just about anywhere. Crime, well, we have lots of that, but we are a large city.

We don't have much of a bug or spider problem. Sometimes we have lots of grasshoppers in large parking lots at night, that can be creepy. We do have some gecko lizards, but they're harmless. If you live in older apt complexes then you'll have roaches! Some areas (especially near mountain preserves) have scorpians. Those I find a little frightening, luckily I've never had one in any of my homes. (knock on wood!)

Michelle. If you live in an area that still has some surrounding desert you may see some wildlife. We see scorpions, I don't like them, but they are here, I have only had a few in my house!
Tarantula's, have seen them, not too many times, but they are fascinating Keep your doors closed.
Only thing out here that still freaks me out is the idea of snakes. Ok, have only seen a few, and I saw them before they surprised me. I survived! lol

We have some bugs, but not as scary as Florida. We do have big spiders, but they are very seldom seen. We love the wildlife especially the coyotes at night. They come right up behind our block wall. We also have Javalena (wild pigs). Been here two years and only see their **** on the trail, never the culprit that left it. We have been very happy here and right now the air is like spring, just can't beat it.

Michelle can I ask why you want to move from CT? I lived near Groton for awhile and loved it, the winters were so mild there.
Anyway, as far as AZ I guess it depends where you can get a good job. The housing market peaked last year and now houses are not selling so that could be good and bad for you. There is much more crime in AZ then CT, also keep in mind the shcools here are not as good as the ones in CT. Good luck to you..
