Can someone help with elevations?
Hi,
We are reaching retirement, love the desert, but due to lung problems, cannot live in high elevations. We'd like smaller towns (under 10,000), friendly, and under 3000 ft. I have searched and can't find listings of towns by elevation. Of course that doesn't mean it's not out there, just that I can't find it. We are mostly looking south of Phoenix. I need a place to shop and medical facilities that I can get to without having to be on oxygen. Can anyone give some suggestions?

Casa Grande nice small city 50 miles south of Phoenix. Has great little hospital
and outlet mall. Located right off I10 and a short trip to Phoenix. Maricopa Az is about 30 miles south of Phoenix exit I 10 go west. Fast growing community with Harrahs Casino.I am an Arizona Native and have lived here 59 years. Globe AZ is 63 miles north of Mesa AZ elevation 3500ft. You should not have a problem there, but very old town. Most AZ cities can be found by typing in name in google search and you can get elevation, population etc.
Good Luck with your move.
ALERT to anyone new moving here...always carry bottled water in your car.
Never cross a flooded street in a thunder storm.

Wellton is about 30 miles east of Yuma.
And about 140 west of phonix, elevation is about 200 feet above sea level and it has beautiful homes, both new and old.
Farming is the main trade there, and theres many gold courses there.
I love it,and will probably retire there.

Safford is your ticket. Slightly above 3000 feet, the air is wonderful. Wheater is gorgeous most of the time, especially in Winter. Got snow on Mt. Graham but none on the streets below. The air feels clean and a treat for your lungs.
The summers are hot, but surviveable, average is way below 100. Good Medical Center, Doctors, and most other ammenities in town. Quaint and quiet town, perfect for retirement under 15,000 people. Cost of living is doable, you can even afford a nice little house. Commute to bigger City would be Tucson about 1 1/2 hrs. Phoenix 2 1/2 hrs. Oh you got the City of Thatcher next to you and a few other smaller towns.
I like it here the best so far. Hope this helps ya make a decision.

Kingman
kingman is good close to vegas but we are considered high desert and sit at 3500 ft elevation, some snow in winter quickly melts off and summer is not to bad, hit 106 today though.

If you have lung problems you will have to be very careful in the Phoenix area. We have a lot of bad air days, lots of warnings to stay indoors if you have breathing problems. You should consider maybe Kingman.
