There's NO reason for adults to smoke in a sealed up area with minor age kids. If an adult wants to hurt himself with ciggys; have it at, but DON'T poison your kids with that crap.

What happened to our 85 mph speed limit law and the law that speeding up to ten miles over the limit would be a ten dollar ticket. Now THOSE are good laws! I'd pay ten bucks every so often if I could drive 95 on the freeway.

Oh wait, I already do.

I grew up with BOTH parents smoking, in a car with 5 kids, we all lived. My dad used to have us climb 100 ft tall radio towers, no safety ropes, just hang on tight and you'll be ok, guess what, we all lived. Should we make that a fine-able offense too? We might have died This whole nanny state business is BS, and in reality the whole point of this law is giving law enforcement and the courts one more way to screw with people. Children die thousands of different ways, keep up with the nanny state laws and pretty soon the only safe place for a child will be sealed in a block of lucite.

You may still be alive, but apparently it did have an effect on your cognitive thinking. So you advocate putting your children's health at risk just so you can show your a** to the government?
Sacrifices must be made huh? If your dad would have fallen and gotten killed it would have been sad, but if you'd have pushed him... You'd have been guilty of a crime. If you'd shot someone with a nail gun, you'd be guilty of a crime, Had you pushed him off a ladder, you'd be guilty of a crime. ... See where I am going here?

Yes, parents driving their kid to football practice dare not smoke in the car, for the child's health, of course.

Never mind that their precious little snowflake could suffer a severe brain injury or blow out a knee playing football.

Oh. The. Irony.

As far as moving these restrictions into the home, if that day ever comes, we also need to conduct raids on the homes of fat children to see what kind of food is in the kitchen. Parents need to be held accountable for their children's health. If laws are needed to get the point across, so be it.

If parents are known to own a gun or guns, same thing, unannounced raids to make sure all firearms are stored safely.

After all, "for the children" is an acceptable reason to erode people's freedoms.

"If conducting safety raids on the homes of gun owners saves the life of one child........."

Inch by inch, step by step, people are happily giving up freedoms......just remember this is one of the ways it all started when that mindset lands on your doorstep.

And lets not forget that poison "Alcohol." Lets demolish all Liquor Stores, raid homes for "Booze Checks" and shoot drunk drivers who endanger everyone, not just children. Lets make it a 10,000 dollar fine and 5 years in jail for drinking a Beer. That would same far more lives than are lost to 2nd hand Smoke, which there are no "Factual" statistics for, since no one knows how long they will live, exposed or not exposed. A single Car puts out more harmful fumes in traffic than a hundred people smoking.

That said, banning smoking in a car with underage Kids is reasonable, right or wrong, since they have no choice in the matter. If its unfounded, its better to make an error on "Just in Case" and am for it.

If your an adult, You have a choice. That includes Restaurants and Bars. I think those Laws are meddling, since no one twists your arm to go to a place that allows smoking. And if your going to a Bar to DRINK, which is worse for you, than your a Hypocrite for crying about smoking. Your a bigger Threat and Danger, than any other person in there smoking.

Alcohol! Yes, it definitely has to go!

Think of all of the children whose lives are destroyed by alcohol.....the violence......the broken homes......the accidents.

We should have an alcohol free country...........for the children.

A good start.....parents should be banned from consuming alcohol.
