I meant more worrisome for people (ie the kids at the bus stop), I might have been more clear on that.

Where do people get this ****???

Bears do not go into cities unless food is scarce and it would be only to outlying properties. Even then, it's a rarity and bear attacks on people are even rarer. Most attacks only happen when people come upon a momma and cubs in surprise fashion and the momma feels threatened enough to protect her young. A bear travelling with cubs will do it's best to avoid heavily congested areas and noise, especially Grizzlies which are again, solitary animals.

A bear attack in North America has never happened on a group of 6 or more people. Attacks are solitary instances where people are in the bear's territory. They do not seek to attach humans for food.

I don't mean people in cities. I spend a good deal time in the outdoors and the fact that a grizzly is marginally dangerous wouldn't change that in the least. You read more into my statement than I wrote. I'm on the side of the bears and seeing one in the Gila would be wonderful imo.

This foolishness is what brought the bus stop issue to mind.

Spent time in Alaska where there are wolves and lots of them and bears too and there were no 'cages' to protect kids waiting for the school bus like my namby pamby neighbors in Catron County feel is necessary. If they're that scared of nature then they should move to the city.

I'm sorry, I did read into your comments the wrong way. Wow, kids in cages?! People are pretty bad at actually knowing facts about nature and wildlife. Bringing the Grizzly back to this part of the country would be fantastic and very appropriate.

Yes, and this is why six shooters hold six rounds. That's so you can shoot each of your six friends once in the kneecap and then YOU can RUN like h3ll while the bear eats your friends!

They are brown and not from the area. Don't Arizonans naturally reflexively at the prospect?

I read awhile back that some idiot shot the only wolf in AZ because he thought it was a coyote. Probably if a griz didn't have security it would end up a rug in six months.

I've seen how much the Cronkite News Service promotes the Mexican Grey Wolf project in the White Mountain Independent. Sometimes the OP-ED section there gets bombarded by folks who live in Flagstaff, San Fransisco, Chicago, and other urban areas praising the wolf program and belittling those who oppose it.

I am curious to see how many folks who are rallying for the re-introduction of Grizzlies actually live in the areas where said re-introduction(s) would happen.
