Ok where to start?
Mattinas = was there this past weekend, they took the old apartment that was in the rear and made it into additional dining area. Very good food again fairly expensive.
Cappelas was good but is now closed up.
Chuys = ate there tonight was not impressed.
Mia Saritas = outstanding mexican food off the beaten path
Oysters follows up behind Mia Saritas.
Brunswick as kdog said its pretty good as well.
Strombolis has a small seating area and is pretty good food great pizza
Then when we get desperate we make a road trip to Baker Ca. for the Mad Greek outstanding greek food..

Again a thumbs up for KRMC.

Unless its because of a great job, I can't think of any reason to live anywhere in AZ except for Sedona and Flagstaff, no offense.

Geez how about Flagstaff being NAU and a hot spot for skiing which equals crazy traffic and expensive housing?
Love mountain biking the mt elden area and the water tank area.

Sedona/redrock country = a hot tourist attraction again a lot of tourists. very expensive housing very few main roads to avoid congestion. But I do like hiking the area.

So yes because they are a tourist trap setting they fit some peoples life style.
I prefer less people more wide open spaces. I live on almost a acre of land. The deer, quail and wildlife come right up on the back porch. Yes this can be had in Sedona or Flag but at what cost?
No offense just my opinon

You're entitled to your opinion.

BTW, I see you're from Honolulu. No offense, but I can't think of any reason to live anywhere in the Hawaiian islands other than Maui.

Never been there; but, I would go with the big island where Hilo is

Although the humidity in Hawaii would likely kick my Haole butt

They were all friendly and competent. KRMC has been actively recruiting docs from around the country. We've also seen letters to the newspaper praising the care there. We've also heard of folks who've had bad experiences there as well. However, I think that comes with the territory. When it comes to health care, it's pretty hard to please all of the people all of the time. But our experience gets a big thumbs-up.
Good for you! If you have a life threatning illness, Kingman Arizona is not the place to be.

You cannot get specialist in specialized fields for ilnesses for medical care. People from those regions have to come to Phoenix for specialized care. If you want to have basic care that is one thing, if you are very sick, that isn't the place to be.

You're waffling now, Prinny. First you said you wouldn't get medical care here at all. Now you're implying there are no specialists here. You're wrong on that as well. My wife's oncologist maintains an office in Kingman, and is there once a week. There's good cardiac care in town. KRMC is in the process of bringing an excellent urologist to town. I know an excellent eye surgeon. So there are plenty of specialists here.

No matter where you live, you can always travel somewhere to get better care. When we lived in San Jose, CA, we elected to travel to the UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco for my wife's initial cancer treatments. Why? Because it's one of the best in the world. To say San Jose has bad health care because of that one data point would be ludicrous.

When somebody in my family urgently needs a specialist, I will seek out the very best in the country no matter where I am living. Be it Phoenix, Kingman, San Jose, or wherever. Simple demographics will tell you that large cities will always have more healthcare options than small cities. But the fact is, for a town of its size, Kingman is currently doing very well.

Waffling on NOTHING at all. I know a lot about medical care all too well. I stand by my statement! Unless you've walked in my shoes, dare not speak for me.

I lived in BHC. There was no Urology in the area at all! As you stated, they are bringing in a Urologist. Even in Urology, unless a Uro can treat a specific disease, one specialist itself even then isn't enough. My statement, I wouldn't want to be sick there, stands. Been sick, while living in that area. Ended up having to move. hard finding the best Dr.'s in a big city. In a place that is rural and there is only one to chose from if even that. What do you do?

I have many friends in that area. Several have had to be flown to Phoenix for medical care. If the care was readily available for all situations then people would not be flown out of there. Many people I know either go to Phoenix or Vegas for care. If the care was so great why not just stay there for all medical services.

If you're happy w/ the health care, I'm happy for you! Unless you know what it is to have bad health, and I'm talking really bad health not just ailments, then by all means, feel free to understand what I am saying. I know to well what good medical care is.
