I'm expecting an important phone call for a job interview and a Skype interview (2 different companies) some time next week but I'll be at the grand canyon for a few days. I heard cell reception is weak or nonexistent there. I read about this from the internet from a few years ago. I'm wondering if this is still the case? I have T-Mobile.

I saw the title of this thread and was going to try to help, but then I read the OP and saw that you are with T-Mobile. If you ever want to have good coverage in more places, you're going to have to switch to Verizon as T-Mobile is only for the big cities. And a look at the two coverage maps confirms this. You will be SOL at the Grand Canyon with T-Mobile.

I am not a Verizon agent.

Make the switch to Total Wireless at Wal*Mart now. Get a Motorola Moto e on closeout for $21.98 and a 2.5 GB datacard for $35 and you're set for a month. Total Wireless runs off of Verizon cellphone towers so you get reception everywhere. And the Motorola Moto e runs on a KitKat 4.4 Android operation system. Saves me money big-time!

Plus, you'll get calls pert-near everywhere in the U.S.
