Currently living and working on the western slope of Colorado. Sometime in the near future, would like to move to a small mountain town. Areas considered would be, Arizona, Montana, Washington, Idaho, Oregon, the smaller the better. Anyone who knows where a great small town, in the mountains, I would like to hear from you...

Thanks,

Tinapearl

How small? You could try Heber/Overgaard and go down from there, like Forest Lakes or whatever. How mountainy? Maybe look at Crown King.

Not sure how you are defining either "small" or "mountain" but for AZ I'd vote Bisbee. Funky, cool, super laid back but spunky town in So AZ mtns.

Greer or Alpine in the White Mountians. Other possibilities, Pinetop/Lakeside, Show Low, Heber but these have more people and are lower elevation. Greer is Hansel and Gretel stuff but pretty tiny.

The temp in Greer right now is a balmy 5 degrees according to MSN. Last night's weather report said they were something -0 Wednesday night.

It do get nippy up there. Gorgeous in summer though. I think I would die of boredom in Greer, however. You can only fish so much.

I had one of the best times of my life watching game 5 of the NBA finals Suns vs Celtics at the Molly Butler in Greer. 30 years ago, my how time flies.

Fort Mohave,AZ is nestled in a valley surrounded by Mountains, but it is 45 minutes from LAS, and you can access NV and California within a 30 minute druve either way. The area is very pretty and there are sveral smaller towns nearbye

There are also quite a few small mountain towns in NM - you might want to consider that state, too.
