Default Lake Havasu to visit?

Hi- Our family is going to travel to your part of the world for Spring Break- we're spending three days at the South Rim, then going on to Vegas for a couple days before flying home.

It looks like Lake Havasu City is a great mid-point for us to spend a night in between the Canyon and Vegas.

Is it worth a day and night with two teenagers? And if so, can anyone recommend a hotel/lodging and activities to do there?

Thanks in advance.

You could rent Jet Skis or a boat in Lake Havasu. Maybe do some fishing. Other than river sports, I don't think you'll find much else to do there.

Alternatively, I'd suggest skipping Lake Havasu, and heading north to Page, AZ. Visit Horseshoe Bend, and take in an Antelope Slot Canyon tour. Cross the river into southern Utah, and take in Zion National Park. You could even hit Bryce National Park as well. In fact, unless you're planning on doing some backpacking at the south rim, I'd recommend spending just a single day there in favor of spending more time in southern UT. It's just a few hour drive to get from Zion to Las Vegas.

It would seem to me that LHC is a little out of the way if your traveling from the Canyon to Vegas. However, spring break in Havasu is a good time and the "scenery" cannot be beat. If I was a teenager, it would be worth the drive down. We stay at the Hampton Inn when visiting Havasu. It is on London Bridge Road not too far from the Bridgewater Channel. The rooms are nice and the free breakfast is pretty decent. If possible, rent a watercraft and take a tour of the lake. Just be careful...... the locals don't call it "HavaZOO" for nothing.

I would suggest following kdogs recomendations. You'll get more bang for your buck with the places he mentioned to visit. Those are some of the most beautiful scenic sights in the USA.
Lake Havasu is primarily a wild and crazy party town. Nothing else to do. You may want to check with past posts about Lake Havasu before you venture out of the way over there.

Page would be a milder spring break boating town than Havasau. Hope you get a chance to stop on Sedona too.

I would skip the South Rim all together go north and explore stop at Lyons Ferry and explore the old ferry site and out buildings. The Navajo Bridge site is interesting to walk out over the old bridge over the canyon as well. Then go to Jacob Lake and South to the North Rim of the Canyon this is the place to be much better in my opinion than the south rim.
Then over and between Fredonia and Colorado city is Pipe Springs Nat monument they dress up like old soldiers and put on a great show.
Several if not most parks now require a pass so check and see if a annual would be cheaper. some parks don't honor all passes either.
Then you can check out Zion like K dog posted

Thanks for the suggestions! I've visited Arizona twice in the last 14 months- did Sedona, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, 4 Corners, Painted Desert........ It is one of the most interesting and beautiful states and I love it there. Great vibes!

I do like the idea to cut short the time at the GC (we can't do a mule ride anyway) and head up to Zion. Teens get bored quickly anyway so I want to keep them moving and interested.

And those "views" at havasu you mentioned- I'm sure my 15 year old son would love them but .................. I forgot that place turns into animal house in the spring!!

And Zonababe- I feel really dumb for this but it took this thread and your reply for me to figure out what your name means.......
