As a new resident, I'm interested in getting to know more about the political candidates in Arizona. However, I'm finding the TV commercials aren't helping me make a decision. In fact, I find many of the commercials to be frivolous.
Tongue in cheek comments:

Ann Kirkpatrick's boots - Does anyone else think of Nancy Sinatra's song while this commercial airs?

Martha McSally's deploy - Does anyone else think Martha's deploying herself is a bit over the top? Yes, she's proud of her military career, but come on!
Please share your thoughts

My only comment, Deelighted . . . Thank God for the Remote.

Not quite certain which is worse . . . the ridiculously meaningless TV Commercials that are repeated far too often day in and day out or the outrageously disrespectful Political Signs LITTERING just about every street corner around.

Obviously, these Political Candidates are only interested in themselves and have little or no respect for the residents / voters.

The commercials are going to be full of it, at least in my opinion. I research the individual candidates online and attempt to make a decision from there. Read what the really intend to do, or do they just still bash the other person on their website as well, things like that.

I personally don't have any personal hatred for Senator McCain even though I have disagreed with him a fair number of times, but his political ads are just despicable. If anything, they are actively driving me to vote for his opponent purely because his ads are so vicious and hateful towards that person (first his primary opponents such as Dr. Kelli Ward, and now Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick). They seem so over-the-top it disgusts me.

No kidding! Most of the ads themselves are bad enough, but to make matters worse, they are run over and over and over and over and over and over again! Case in point: Hillary's anti Trump TV spot which has been aired since early summer ... the one that shows clips of Trump spewing his inappropriate comments while children are watching. The way I see it, this makes Hillary's campaign look bad by constantly running the same ads about Trump ... nothing about what she plans on doing if she's elected.

No, I think of what the boots are stepping in whenever I see this ad. Seriously, is this the best her campaign can come up with ... a spot depicting Arizona as rural state where everybody wears boots?! Even more laughable is Ann Kirkpatrick in cowboy boots! This is kind of reminiscent of the 1988 TV spot showing Mike Dukakis riding around in a tank: hilarious in a desperate attempt to get votes!

+1... Good advise.

Relying on TV for anything other than entertainment is a mistake.

Something as serious as local, state and national leadership needs more serious attention.

Don't let the talking heads on TV do your thinking for you.

I don't think Kirkpatrick realizes she's running for the entire state not just CD1.

Over 2/3 of Arizona is urban, her district may have been a huge rural district, but they aren't going to carry her.
