Nick - the answer to all 7 of your questions is at
gunlaws.com - State by State Firearms Laws

Better to read for yourself from one of the best resources on the net, rather than getting the info piecemeal on a forum. Good luck

I'm 19 and have never been in trouble with the law in any way.. so is it legal for me to carry a handgun in a holster or in my car as long as it is NOT concealed... or do you have to be 21

You cannot purchase a handgun from a federally licensed firearm dealer in the state of Arizona if you are under 21. However, you can legally possess a handgun and open carry it in Arizona if you are at least 18 years of age.

that's the point of this thread amigo... as long as your handgun is in a holster, it can be anywhere in your car and you are not carrying concealed.

Likewise, it can be in a glove box, console, map pocket - not concealed there either.

You are only carrying concealed a) on your person, if no portion of the holster is visible, or b) in a car, with no holster, and under the seat.

put it in a cheapie holster and you can leave it in your glove box or center console and you're fine.

Actually the law specifies "belt holster". Remember that the ATF definition of holster specifies that the gun must be visible and recognizable. So your safest interpretation is that you are carrying concealed unless enough of the GUN is visible and recognizable as a firearm. Otherwise, someone could carry a gun in a fanny pack and call that a holster, which of course isn't the intent.

private purchase under 21 is fine. As long as you can find a seller, and you are staying away from the 'straw' purchases. Don't have a 21+ friend buy one for you and try to say it's a private party sale.

PS- It's a federal law, not AZ, that deals with purchases of long guns/handguns from FFLs anyway.
