No green card... I am retired live on pension and have no intention of ever working in the US as it would be illegal. I do own property and stay the maximum allowed time of 182 days per calander year.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any gun dealers that have sold to Canadian's and what was required in that sale?

With no green card, you've got some hurdles in the way. Immigrants with green cards can own firearms, but if you're here as a non-resident or on a visitor's visa, you'll need a hunting license.

I'd suggest you call scottsdale gun club and ask a manager that question. As the place most likely to deal with well-heeled visitors, if they aren't able to help you, i'm not sure who could... The ATF perhaps

Alright, lets say I just turned 19 years old, and for my birthday my father bought me a handgun, can I carry open or is it against the law?

OK wherever it is legal to carry a gun (most places). You will have to wait till 21 to carry it concealed. A permit is not required for concealed carry anymore in most cases.

You've got 2 more long years to wait.

Arizona's landmark Constitutional Carry law removes the need to have a government permission slip to discreetly exercise the right to keep and bear arms. Any person at least 21 years old whose gun rights are intact may carry a firearm, openly or discreetly, as of July 29, 2010, as provided by law.

Thanks, but I didn't mean concealed xarry, just meant open.
I know you can't buy a handgun from a licensed firearms dealer until 21, so I was wondering if I bought from a private seller, or a family member bought it as a gift could I carry open? Arizona state laws says you have to be 18 or older to carry open. That's what I am trying to figure out. I was going to buy myself a Colt 1911 .45acp, but not sure if it would be legal to buy from a private seller.

There's more bum dope on this subject in this forum than any I've seen in a long time. Anyone... not otherwise prohibited (crazy, felon, alien, spouse-beater) may openly carry a sidearm if 18 years old or beyond. No permits... none of that nonsense. This right has been recognized in Arizona since before there was an Arizona. Let me explain 'the law'. Laws prohibit, restict you from doing something. No law 'allows' anything. If there is no law against something... then de facto it's 'allowed'... but that like saying there's no law allowing you to eat a taco... but there's no law that sez you can't either.

Concealed carry (CWP permit or not) begins at 21. Makes no sense... but there it is.
