From about 1933 to 1945 my Dad rode for the Arizona Land and Cattle Company with a Tolleson [sp?] address. The ranch foreman was Allen Cowan, whose wife was Lorna, and they had three daughters, Anna, Dorothy, and Martha. Is the ALCC name or the names of the people noted sound familiar to any C-D readers? Any info will be sincerely appreciated.

Wow! You never know what is gonna turn up when you Post on C-D When I Posted about AL&CC I was trying to fill in a gap in my family history. Dad talked about it a little but I was hoping for some more "tid-bits" since he is long gone. So my Post led to Ed Warren which led to Don Bolles, which led to Kemper Marley Dad knew Bolles and told me about his murder. Once while visiting Dad and exploring the Sonora, we drove by a ranch and Dad said that was Marley's ranch and he was convinced that he was the one who had Bolles killed. But that was decades ago and in the meantime it has all been sorted out, I guess

Just to make it all more complicated, I seem to remember that Marley is tied to the McCains.

I just looked it up, Warren was Great Southwest Land and Cattle.

Lightbulb about the Southwest Land and Cattle Co.

Got to add info to this post which I came across doing research. I have tons and tons of info on that farcas involving the Southwest Land and Cattle Co. in the 70's AND 80's. There was a trial and most of the witnesses were murdered but it didn't stop "some people" involved froml using their skills to continue swindling folks. There is a good book by the son of one of the witnesses that was murdered at the same time as Don Bolles. His name was Ed Lazar. The son's name is Zachary Lazar, the book is called Evening's Empire. It's really inexpensive on Amazon.

Now, I would like to ask a question...Does anyone remember where the feed lot was? Ed Kudahay (spellilng?) had a big meat packing plant right there. thanks...AZHero
