I'm in need of replacing few single pane windows but cheapest looks like vinyl framed is that a problem if in direct sun here? I was reading they melt at 150 degrees seems kind of low. I always had aluminium while they do transfer more heat last 30 years.

The vinyl are fine.. home Depot sells Jeldwyn and they were made in the San Diego area. I just saw the West facing one's I installed 8 years ago.. still looking good. Four foot by three feet dual pane gas filled, screen included.. Were under 100 usd each. Sharks wanted 400 each, so I figured I could break a few and still come out ahead.

House on the left 18,500 in 2010. Zip 85014. Now, on the market for 215,000.

We bought the Home Depot vinyl windows in 2009 or 2010 with some tax credit then. More than half had to be replaced as they bent. I don't think it was an installation issue, but a material issue. It was under warranty, so no problem. But makes you wonder if the material is the right one here.

Home Depot just came gave me a quote for one large window 2 sliders and 2 regular bedroom sliders and a small picture window wanted $3200. The brand was Simonton has lifetime warranty which is transferable even against rock breaking window. Wife wants me to get a quote from window world they are advertising 7 windows and a sliding door for $3750.00. Yelp had mixed reviews on window world that seems like a good deal many were 5 stars seemed happy with cheap windows.
