And where would we put them? Oh, wait, I remember now. Reservations.

No, they would continue doing what they're doing. Working and paying taxes like normal people without being on reservations.

It was satire. I worked with Native American tribes & there was a lot of bitterness about the wars, even after all this time.

They have a beautiful culture though & kept up traditions. A beautiful people.

In order to work with them I had to study & learn the culture. So I guess it strikes home.

Not only that but that is mostly drug cartel land...good luck getting them to move farther south.

We have plenty of nice warm beach places to go to. We don’t need to annex an “American version of Dubai” (weather there in the gulf of california is similar to the gulf in the Middle East”. Make Phoenix a nice place, instead of elsewhere. Places can be great without beaches. If you disagree, take that nonsense to California.

I think if they met our Marines, they would be, shall we say "coerced", into retreating.

I personally don't care for Rocky Point, but Arizona should have annexed it. I definitely agree with the OP that it could have given Arizona a beach destination within the state, and prevented all the hassles of crossing the international border. It could have also exploded in development if it were Americanized ... possibly something along the lines of Ft. Lauderdale. Oh well, too late now.

This gives you an idea how poor the area of Puerto Penasco is on the outskirts. If it were to be annexed to AZ, asphalt companies will be busy for a long time paving all the streets.

Far different culture, pretty sure the locals wouldn't want to part of the United States.

Experiencing the (real) Mexican culture is part of what makes going down there great.
